31. The Little Princess Is Picky

Running away from home!

Just thinking about these four words made Xia Yi's tail tremble uncontrollably.

"I'm so terrible for even considering running away from home!"

As a princess of the dragon race, Xia Yi had never done anything so rebellious in her life.

Even during the time when she was a human, whether it was her time in the orphanage or as a human Sword Saint in the Schubert family, she had never considered such a thing.

In her view, this was simply the epitome of bad behavior, a downright naughty child!

"Now there's no problem with me running away from home. I can just run back to the human world. As long as I continue to research and perfect the transformation potion, I can fully recover as a human and get rid of the identity of the dragon princess!"

There were precedents for this.

In Xia Yi's heart, Monet was such an outstanding predecessor. Even though he was cursed and transformed into a dragon, he did not fall deep within his heart. He even researched the transformation potion and, in the end, deceived everyone, transformed into a human, and returned to the human world.

If he could do it, there was no reason why she couldn't.

"But there's one more problem, how do I leave the Dragon Clan?"

Xia Yi was thinking.

This was indeed a big problem because she was not fond of going out.

If she suddenly went out to a far place, she would definitely be closely monitored. Under the circumstances where every move was watched, how could she run away from home?

Therefore, her running away from home had a prerequisite, and that was to be able to leave the dragon palace for a legitimate reason.

Thinking about it, Xia Yi couldn't find such a reason. After all, if she wanted to do something, she could completely ask Sera for help.

That perfect and chic royal maid was always able to excellently complete all tasks.

"In that case, should I refer to Monet's approach?"

Xia Yi began to carefully recall Monet's past.

His ability to leave the Dragon Clan also had a very important objective condition, which was that he had won the trust of the Dragon Clan, which lowered the internal vigilance of the dragon race against him. Therefore, Monet was able to find an excuse to leave the Dragon Clan.

In that case, couldn't she just follow suit?

Thinking of this, Xia Yi already had a plan. She found the map of the dragon race, carefully determined the scope of the dragon race's power.

The country where the Dragon Clan was located was called the Dragon Kingdom, ruled by the Dragon Queen Xia Lulu.

There were many small forces between this land and other large forces.

Among them, there were naturally small forces bordering the Dragon Kingdom, which had to submit to the dragon race for survival and exist as a vassal state.

Those vassal states were in constant war for the struggle for interests, and friction was constant.

"Maybe, this is my chance."

Xia Yi squinted her eyes.

As the Silver Dragon Princess and the future heir to the Dragon Kingdom, she needed to understand the changes in the external situation, and there were even special courses related to this.

Xia Lulu would also occasionally ask Xia Yi questions from time to time to test her insights.

Originally, she didn't like learning these things, but she didn't expect them to come in handy at this time.

She took out a pen and began to write and draw on the map, integrating all the information and data…

In the following three days, Xia Yi became a good girl.

She didn't cause trouble, nor did she cause a fuss. She attended her classes diligently every day, never late, never leaving early.

Even the etiquette class she despised the most, she managed to cooperate excellently.

On the third day, the middle-aged single dragon lady who was responsible for Xia Yi's etiquette class couldn't take it anymore. She secretly went to ask the doctor if the princess had hit her head or something…

Honestly, Xia Yi was feeling uncomfortable all over. She hadn't been able to be herself for three days, it was like a death sentence, she was already reaching her limit!

But there was no choice, she first had to gain the complete trust of the dragon race, to make Xia Lulu believe that she herself had given up the identity of the Sword Saint, in order to be given the right to do certain things.

In short, it was all an act!

"Xia Yi, have you been this well-behaved recently?"

At the dinner table, Xia Lulu cut open a delicious steak with a knife and fork, looking at her daughter.

Xia Yi maintained an elegant sitting posture, nodding slightly.

"Of course, as a princess of the dragon race, it's only natural that I should excel in everything and show everyone my abilities, isn't it?"

"Oh? Just a few days ago, you were crying and making a fuss, and suddenly you've become a good girl?"

"I, I didn't cry and make a fuss! Who are you calling your daugh-"

Faced with Xia Lulu's rebuttal, she almost blew her cover. In order to maintain her persona, she had to forcibly hold it back.

But holding it back was causing internal damage, so the little princess had to mutter a sentence.

"A little fuss doesn't count as a fuss."

Xia Lulu was really amused, her silver eyes seemed to see through her daughter's little thoughts.

She gently clapped her hands, and Lucia came up with a tray, not knowing what was covered inside, and placed it in front of Xia Yi.

"What is this?"

Xia Yi really didn't understand.

Wait, this wasn't on the dinner menu!

"It's a surprise, Xia Yi," Xia Lulu said with a smile, "Your recent performance has really pleased me more and more, so I specially instructed the kitchen to prepare these."

No good, when this silver dragon queen starts to smile, it's definitely no good!!

Xia Yi's body reacted, and she wanted to run away now.

But she had been acting for several days, and her exceptional performance had won the favor of the silver dragon queen. How could she give up now?

Xia Lulu gave a look, and Lucia went over and lifted the cover.

The moment she smelled the aroma, Xia Yi's tail went limp.

It was broccoli.

It was a food she particularly disliked. If there was anything in this world that should be extinct, it would definitely be broccoli.

Not to mention eating it, she couldn't stand the smell, she was already having trouble breathing.

"So, my daughter, as an excellent dragon princess, you must have overcome your picky eating habits, right? After all, being too picky will affect your image in social situations in the future."

"I, I…"

Tears were already spinning in Xia Yi's eyes.

"If you finish all of it, there's a reward~ Xia Yi, considering your excellent performance recently, I can grant you a reasonable request."

The Silver Dragon Queen offered a condition she couldn't refuse. This was the promise Xia Yi most desperately wanted.

For the sake of being able to run away from home, she had to fight!!

Eat, it's just broccoli, right? I'll eat it!

The little princess tearfully agreed, her trembling little hand picking up the knife and fork, putting the broccoli into her mouth. The unbearable taste (only for the picky Xia Yi) was destroying her taste buds. She wanted to spit it out, but she had to chew it. Under Xia Lulu's gaze, she swallowed it.

It was only the first bite, but why did it feel like she had been eating for a thousand years…

Hang in there, I am the unyielding Sword Saint, no matter what kind of challenge, it won't knock me down.

The heart of a clear mirror!

Xia Yi ate like crazy.

"How does it feel? My daughter." Xia Lulu asked cheerfully.

The little princess, who was almost crying, squeezed out an ugly smile, "Very fresh, very delicious… uh."

She covered her mouth, almost losing her composure on the spot.

It's okay, a true hero can bend and stretch. As long as she endures this plate of broccoli, there will be a time for you, Xia Lulu, to regret…

"That's great, Lucia, what are you waiting for, bring it up quickly." Xia Lulu ordered.

Xia Yi was stunned.

Afterwards, Lucia brought another tray to the little princess.

"Wait, what's going on?"

"I said 'if you finish all of it', not just this one," Xia Lulu replied matter-of-factly, "The broccoli is just an appetizer, this is the main course."

This wicked woman!!

Xia Yi felt like she had been played. She was furious, but she had finished the broccoli. If she gave up now, she would have suffered for nothing.

"Is this the last one?"

"Yes, it is." Xia Lulu replied.

"Okay, no problem."

Originally, she said that, Xia Yi had already mentally prepared herself, no matter what she saw, she had to endure.

But when Lucia opened the cover and saw what it was, the little princess's eyes went dark and she almost fainted.

"No, anything but this!!"

  1. I don’t get the hate towards broccoli. It is very normal tasting. At least it’s not chewy and tasteless like mushrooms. I have been told that mushrooms taste good cooked differently, though the guy has no clue how I’ve eaten it in the past. So how he knows I’m eating it wrong is beyond me.

In other words, mushrooms are way more disgusting than broccoli. 🥦 > 🍄

    1. Ah. Next chapter is understandable. Bitter gourd. Disgusting. No clue how my siblings can eat that shit like it’s delicious. I’d eat mushrooms before that shit.
