5. Stick, Stick

The sword of a human swordsman?

Xia Yi immediately remembered the story that Xia Lulu had told her yesterday.

A story about a self-proclaimed dragon slayer, a swordsman who challenged the strongest dragon clan.

However, because she was too sleepy afterwards, Xia Yi was yawning all the time, listening in a daze, so she didn't pay much attention to the final outcome of the swordsman.

But now that Xia Lulu mentioned this, it meant—

"Mother, was the story you told actually happened?" Xia Yi suddenly realized.

"Of course, this story is adapted from a real event," Xia Lulu explained calmly, "Once, there was indeed a human swordsman who challenged me, claiming to be a fearless dragon slayer, intending to slay me, the evil dragon."

"Can humans really challenge the dragon clan?"

Xia Yi was puzzled.

Because the strength gap between humans and dragons was simply incomparable.

The dragon clan was the favored child of the gods. Even if a dragon was lazy and utterly unambitious, it was still far stronger than a human who had practiced hard for a lifetime.

This was the absolute advantage of the superior race.

It could be said that apart from their reproductive ability, which was problematic, leading to a far smaller population than humans, the dragon clan was superior in every aspect.

"That human was not like ordinary humans. He was very accomplished in swordsmanship and had reached an exceptional level." Xia Lulu seemed to see through her daughter's thoughts.

This made Xia Yi even more curious, "Mother, how strong was that human?"

"At that time, he defeated our guards, but he also paid a heavy price, barely managing a one-for-one trade."

What?

Just that??

"Mother, was it an elite guard?"

"No."

"Then… a regular guard?"

"No, it was a reserve guard."

"Pfft!"

Xia Yi couldn't help but laugh.

She just couldn't hold it in.

Even a reserve guard from the dragon clan could be easily defeated by Xia Yi, yet this human swordsman had to go all out just to achieve a one-for-one trade.

He was really weak.

"Mother, what happened to the swordsman in the end?"

"Now," Xia Lulu looked at her daughter and smiled, "he's gone."

"So he did die, not surprising."

"Xia Yi, the holy sword you summoned in the royal trial today, named Gram, was the swordsman's sword. I secretly gave it to you when you were young, so you knew nothing about it."

Upon hearing this, Xia Yi truly felt sorry for the swordsman from the bottom of her heart.

Not only did he die, but his holy sword was also taken away. The sword that was supposed to be used to slay dragons was now used to protect herself, a member of the dragon clan.

How ironic!

If the Sword Saint knew that his holy sword ended up like this, he would probably be so angry that he would rise from his coffin.

"That holy sword seems quite powerful, I've never learned swordsmanship before, but I defeated the puppet giant with a single stroke."

"Although the physical quality of the human race is far inferior to that of the dragon clan, there are exceptions among them. They can stimulate their potential to the limit and, with the blessing of legendary holy martial arts, they can even fight against foreign races that are much stronger than themselves. For example, the Holy Sword Gram is one of them. However, not everyone can use this holy sword, only those who are qualified to be recognized by the holy sword can."

"Did I get the recognition of the holy sword?"

"Yes, Xia Yi, you were recognized by the holy sword after you were born. You are qualified to control the holy sword. I can't use the Holy Sword Gram, which makes me quite envious… So, I secretly gave you the holy sword before."

Xia Yi understood that the holy sword she had summoned unconsciously in a critical moment was due to this.

She raised her hand, trying to summon the holy sword again.

But after a while, nothing happened, and she couldn't reproduce the situation at that time.

Huh?

What's the problem?

"Mother, why can't I summon the holy sword now?" Xia Yi was very puzzled.

"There are many secrets about the Holy Sword Gram, Xia Yi, you need to explore more by yourself."

"Why didn't you tell me about this before, Mother!" Xia Yi puffed up her cheeks, "I was scared today, I didn't know I had a holy sword!"

"Of course, if you knew this shortcut, you would definitely rely too much on the holy sword and become lazy, which would be very detrimental to your future."

"I, I won't…"

Xia Yi put her little hand behind her, her eyes wandering, she was clearly seen through, but she refused to admit it.

"I'm going to be a powerful magician in the future, just like Mother, I'm not interested in swordsmanship… I don't care about the holy sword!"

"A magician?"

"Yes, I want to defeat the enemy elegantly and handsomely, magic is the most suitable, today was just an accident!"

"Even so, this accident is also part of your power. Speaking of which, I haven't congratulated you yet, my good daughter, you have passed the royal family's trial, and the dragon clan has already recognized your identity as the Silver Dragon Princess." Xia Lulu praised.

Xia Yi was overjoyed.

Xia Yi was filled with joy.

What she wanted to hear most was her mother's approval.

The little princess displayed a sweet smile on her face and looked at the Silver Dragon Queen with hopeful eyes.

"Mother, can you praise me more…" she asked softly.

Xia Lulu grabbed Xia Yi's arm and pulled her into her arms, affectionately stroking her silver hair, "Xia Yi, you showed great strength today and I am truly happy for you. You are indeed my strong and outstanding daughter, living up to the royal name. Keep up the good work in the future."

Then, she left a gentle kiss on Xia Yi's cheek.

Xia Yi was taken aback for a moment, and then her snow-white cheeks blushed slightly out of shyness. Her large tail behind her began to sway rhythmically, revealing the little princess's inner feelings at this moment.

I love Mother the most!

Xia Yi, acting like a spoiled child, nestled in Xia Lulu's arms and hugged the Silver Dragon Queen tightly.

The loli silver dragons, who looked like sisters, were intimately close in the garden where only the two of them were.

It was getting late, and the mother and daughter had been sticking together for a long time. Xia Yi was finally satisfied.

"Mother, it's getting late, I won't disturb you anymore, I'll take my leave!"

"Okay, Xia Yi, you are tired from the battle today, go back and rest well."

After Xia Yi performed the standard royal etiquette to Xia Lulu, she left with a hop and a skip, humming a song all the way.

"Xia Yi is getting cuter and cuter, almost to the point of breaking the rules."

Xia Lulu rested her arms on the table and watched her daughter's departing figure with interest, her eyes squinting and her smile at this moment seemed meaningful.

"I wonder when will Xia Yi enter her rebellious phase? I'm really looking forward to it, hehe."

  1. Damn that is a scary parent right there. One who doesn't dread, but actively looks forward to the teenage rebellion. Granted this one certainly will involve past memories.

  2. I don’t know if I’ll enjoy this, they spend the whole chapter shitting on humans, I only hope when she gets her memories she thinks her mother hates her and this woman loses her daughter

    1. Considering that dragons are almost portrayed as majestic creatures to be killed or tamed in most webnovels, I'll say this is fair treatment if hella more restrained. I've only saw one or two webnovels in my experience that actually gave the dragon screentime that mirrored their infamy in human mythology

  3. i feel sorry for the human ..., i hope there is no plot twist like he have a wife and child. Regardless, it's still funny though.
