72. Now, It's A Big Deal

"Princess, please step back for now! This thing is extremely dangerous, and you must not approach it lightly without protective measures!"

The guards explained earnestly to Xia Yi.

"Her Majesty the Queen has instructed me not to let anyone near it, otherwise a terrible accident could occur!"

Xia Yi remembered that Xia Lulu had mentioned that Tianlan Wood was a secret known only to the royal family, a special dragon mint exclusive to the dragon race.

It seemed that these guards were also unaware of what this thing was, clearly just following Xia Lulu's orders, donning protective suits as if they truly believed it to be some kind of terrifying object.

Interesting.

"Okay, be careful, don't make any mistakes, and carry on with your work. I won't get in your way."

Xia Yi began to play the obedient child.

On the surface, she agreed, but mischief was already brewing in her belly.

"Thank you for your understanding, Princess!"

The guards bowed gratefully to Xia Yi and then carried the large object in the box away.

"Hehehe…"

Xia Yi chuckled.

She hid in a corner, secretly watching the departing guards, and followed them.

Tracking the dragon race's guards, she arrived at a massive warehouse.

After memorizing the location, Xia Yi decided to act later that night when all was quiet.

"Princess, you seem very happy tonight. Did something good happen?"

Sera looked at Xia Yi, who was happily eating, her spirits higher than usual.

"That's because… something good is going to happen!" Xia Yi cut into her steak, "Soon, I'll be turning the tables beautifully, and when I do, I'll pinch her tail hard, just like last time…"

"Pinch her tail?"

Sera was surprised.

"Ah… it's nothing, don't mind it! Sera!"

Xia Yi quickly shut her mouth, she couldn't reveal any more information. What if Sera found out and reported to Xia Lulu?

Her plan couldn't be spoiled!

"Sera, after dinner and a little rest, I'm going to prepare for a bath."

"So soon, Princess?"

"Yes, I'm so tired from studying today, I want to sleep early…"

"I understand, Princess." Sera nodded.

"Well then, Princess, good night."

"Good night~~"

After saying good night to Sera under the covers, the red dragon maid turned off the light, left the room, and closed the door.

The room became quiet.

Xia Yi had taken an early bath and pretended to go to bed…

Of course, it was all a ruse for tonight's mission!

It seemed Sera hadn't noticed anything strange.

Xia Yi waited a long time before tiptoeing to the door and whispering, "…Sera?"

There was no response from outside.

She opened the door and found that Sera was not outside the room, clearly having left.

Go!

Xia Yi ran back, took out a doll dressed in her pajamas from under the bed, placed it in the bed to look like it was sleeping, changed into a set of clothes, opened the window, and after making sure no one was around, she jumped down.

After all, she was a human Sword Saint, not weak in agility, using the walls as leverage, she jumped onto a tree, then slid down to the ground.

Perfect!

Then, Xia Yi began her mission.

At night, there were guards patrolling the palace, but Xia Yi had already figured out their patterns.

Having often sneaked into the kitchen to secretly snack at night and not wanting to be caught, she had researched the guards' patrol routines thoroughly. She knew exactly when and where she could move without being detected.

It didn't take long for her to reach the warehouse she had scouted earlier.

As expected, there were guards in front of the warehouse. Getting past these dragon guards wouldn't be easy. Even if she tried to talk her way in, it was unlikely they would let her pass without consulting their superiors. If they went to the guard captain, who might then consult Xia Lulu, her cover would be blown.

Therefore—

Xia Yi took a deep breath, pinched her cheeks hard—ouch!—and forced out some tears before running towards the guards with a look of urgency.

Seeing the princess's distressed appearance, the warehouse guards were thrown into a panic.

"What's happened, Princess?!"

"It's terrible… I just saw a stranger lurking in the Dragon Palace, someone who doesn't look like they belong to our palace. It might be… someone from another race! It was so frightening, I might have been attacked if I hadn't run fast…"

"This is bad, could it be an assassin? Princess, please come with me, I'll take you to a safe place!"

The guard took action, escorting Xia Yi and promptly pressing the alarm.

The piercing sound of the alarm echoed throughout the Dragon Palace.

Xia Yi, a bit flustered by her own ruse, thought she might have taken the game a bit too far…

No matter!

There was no turning back now.

The guards intended to take Xia Yi to safety, but she took advantage of the chaos to slip away from the group and made her way back to the warehouse. She quickly donned a protective suit, which was far too large for her frame due to her size, but there was no time to be picky.

She soon found the box she was looking for, which had likely been left unprocessed due to its recent arrival.

Xia Yi opened the box and saw the item she was after.

This plant was extremely rare, found only on high-altitude snow-capped mountains, and was usually offered as tribute to the Dragon Kingdom by its vassal states.

To other races, it was of little use, so they were naturally willing to exchange these insignificant items for the favor of the Dragon Kingdom.

Xia Yi took out a bottle and a small knife, quickly scraping some shavings from the wood into the bottle. After collecting enough, she closed the box, took off the protective suit, and hurried out of the warehouse.

"Princess, what are you doing here? Where did you go just now?"

The guards, who had been searching for her, were surprised to see Xia Yi again.

"I'm fine, you should go catch the assassin! I'm heading back now!"

"Oh… okay!!"

The guards were confused. The princess who had been so scared earlier was now grinning from ear to ear?

Xia Yi returned to her pitch-dark room and closed the door behind her.

She took out the small bottle, clutching it excitedly in her hand, planning how to use the dragon mint.

Suddenly, the light snapped on, illuminating the room.

The silver-haired dragon loli sat on the bed, holding the doll dressed in pajamas, tilting her head and staring at her daughter.

"Xia Yi, what have you been up to so late? Did you cause the commotion outside?" Xia Lulu asked directly.

"Ah…!"

Xia Yi instinctively hid the bottle behind her back.

Xia Lulu approached her daughter.

"Xia Yi, why are you up to mischief again so soon? Haven't you calmed down for even two days before starting your shenanigans?".

"Mischief? What are you talking about? I don't understand. I just sneaked into the kitchen to grab something to eat… I was still hungry after dinner," Xia Yi averted her gaze, her heart pounding fiercely, silently praying that the dragon mint she had acquired wouldn't be discovered.

Xia Lulu seemed to have an idea and smiled slightly, moving closer.

Ambush!

She blew gently into her daughter's ear.

"Whoo~"

"Ah!"

In an instant, Xia Yi's face flushed red, caught off guard by Xia Lulu's move, her reaction was significant, flailing her arms and legs wildly and falling to the ground.

When she recovered, she realized the bottle was no longer in her hand.

Xia Yi quickly looked around for it, and when she looked up, she was stunned by the scene before her.

It turned out that when Xia Yi was flung around, the bottle seemed to have hit Xia Lulu, and all the dragon mint had spilled over the Silver Dragon Queen.

"…" Xia Lulu's eyes widened as she stood still, speechless.

This was bad, Xia Lulu was going to be angry!

Xia Yi's face turned ashen, her tail trembling, feeling as though her end was near.

But then, in the next moment, Xia Lulu also collapsed to the ground, falling into Xia Yi's arms, her cheeks flushed, and she snuggled up to Xia Yi, whispering a long-hidden sentiment.
