82. I Acknowledge You As An Opponent

Xia Lulu poured the boiling hot water into the teapot, allowing the tea leaves to steep. Her movements were graceful and orderly, a textbook example of tea artistry that was a delight to watch in Xia Yi's eyes.

"Regarding this name, how much do you know?" Xia Lulu asked.

"I… I've only heard of it, I don't really know much," Xia Yi replied stiffly.

After flipping through the biography of the former king yesterday, she learned about Frey's life.

"A long time ago, Frey was my brother, which makes him your uncle by relation. Your uncle was a hero of the dragon race and also the former king's favorite successor. It's just a pity…" Xia Lulu paused.

"He lost to me."

Xia Lulu then poured the steaming tea into cups, pushing one of them towards Xia Yi.

It was a private moment between mother and daughter, with no one else around.

Perhaps because of this, Xia Lulu actually started to chat with Xia Yi.

"People think of him as a hero who could take the Dragon Kingdom to new heights. They only see what they want to see. But I, I had a completely different philosophy from Frey. I couldn't agree with him, so I took action."

Xia Yi was so engrossed in listening that she picked up the tea to drink, but scalded her tongue.

"Hot, hot, hot!" Xia Yi stuck out her tongue, almost in tears.

Xia Lulu was amused by her daughter's clumsy action. "Xia Yi, let's leave it at that for now. After all, you're still young and it's not yet time for you to study the art of imperial power."

"What do you mean I'm still young? Stop bringing that up!" Xia Yi protested, puffing up her chest.

"Xia Yi, what do you think about all this?" Xia Lulu asked after waiting for the tea to cool down a bit before sipping it slowly. She seemed indifferent, but her gaze kept drifting towards Xia Yi.

"It's nothing much, just the victor becomes king, and the loser is forgotten. After all, that's all in the past. Frey lost to you, and now you are the queen ruling over the Dragon Kingdom," Xia Yi said.

Xia Lulu blinked, "Are you acknowledging me?"

"Uh… what acknowledgment? This is… a fact! I'm just stating a fact, after all, you've already won, and what others say doesn't matter!" Xia Yi scratched her cheek.

Was she really acknowledging Xia Lulu?

In the past, within the dragon race's perception, Frey was the hero many admired, right?

But those deeds were intangible and invisible to Xia Yi. Instead, she had always been watching Xia Lulu grow up.

Everything about Xia Lulu was witnessed by her own eyes.

Thus, deep down, she didn't have much recognition for Frey.

A hero of the dragon race?

What does that have to do with me!

He's already gone, and no amount of summoning spirits will change that.

As for acknowledging Xia Lulu…

An idea surfaced in Xia Yi's mind.

Thinking about it, Xia Lulu had defeated her, proving to be a very powerful enemy, one worth surpassing, more outstanding than any opponent she had fought before.

Her acknowledgment of Xia Lulu must be an affirmation of an opponent, definitely not anything else.

Yes, that must be it.

Thinking this way, there's no mistake. The princess finally came to a realization and smiled.

"As an opponent, Xia Lulu, your strength is indeed remarkable, a worthy target to surpass. I acknowledge that!" Xia Yi felt the strange emotions that had been lingering in her heart dissipate.

What about Frey?

Go away!

I don't care about you anymore. After all, Xia Lulu is now the Silver Dragon Queen, and no matter what others think, I acknowledge it this way!

"Alright, Xia Lulu, let's not bother with that Frey anymore," Xia Yi waved her hand dismissively.

But at that moment, Xia Yi didn't notice the change in Xia Lulu's gaze towards her, which had become softer.

"My daughter, is there anything else you'd like to talk about?" Xia Lulu asked.

"Ah? Well…" Xia Yi hesitated.

To be honest, Xia Yi had just realized that she was actually sitting in front of Xia Lulu. Wasn't this like having a tea party with her?

I…

Am I really having a tea party with my enemy, and even laughing and talking?

How did it suddenly turn out like this!

Xia Yi finally came to her senses.

"No, Xia Lulu, you and I are enemies! Our issues haven't ended just like that!" Xia Yi suddenly stood up, her expression serious.

"Oh?" Xia Lulu smiled.

"Don't laugh and joke with me here, Xia Lulu. I'm telling you, I am the human Sword Saint, and my interest in you is solely for the purpose of defeating you—"

"Would you like some? It's a pity not to pair afternoon tea with some sweets," Xia Lulu said, as if by magic, producing a small box in her hand that clearly contained desserts.

Hmph, does this woman think I'm a naive little girl?

Do you think I, the indomitable human Sword Saint, am so easily coaxed?

Xia Yi wanted to laugh. This tactic had no effect on her.

She intended to verbally refuse, but when Xia Lulu opened the box of sweets, Xia Yi was stunned.

It was osmanthus cake…

Osmanthus cake!

Osmanthus cake, wow!!

Xia Lulu's slender fingers picked up a piece of osmanthus cake and extended it towards Xia Yi.

Xia Yi clenched her fists, feeling defiant. This gesture was completely dismissive, did she think I would submit like this?

But… the osmanthus cake smelled so good!

Xia Yi opened her mouth and ate the osmanthus cake fed by Xia Lulu.

Delicious~~

The silver-haired loli held her cheeks, showing a satisfied smile, and without realizing it, she sat back down, waiting for more treats from her mother.

After all, it had been a while since she had osmanthus cake, and there was no need to be at odds with her favorite thing.

As for the struggle with Xia Lulu, well, it could be put off for a bit longer, it wouldn't make much difference!

And so, the little princess and the Silver Dragon Queen enjoyed a pleasant afternoon tea in the back garden.

When it was almost over, Lucia requested an audience with Xia Lulu.

Lucia greeted Xia Lulu and also acknowledged Xia Yi.

"Your Highness, you're here too, good afternoon."

"Cough, cough!" Xia Yi, reminded of her earlier behavior by the presence of others, felt a bit embarrassed.

"Do you have something important?" Xia Lulu inquired.

"Your Majesty, this letter is for you. I will take my leave now, so as not to disturb you and the princess," Lucia said with a professional air.

The efficient maid placed a letter on the tea table and then excused herself, leaving the space to the royal pair.

Xia Lulu carefully opened the letter, scanning its contents quickly, her expression turning contemplative. "Oh, I see…"

"What is it? What is it?" Xia Yi asked, her curiosity piqued.

Setting the letter aside, Xia Lulu looked at her daughter and spoke a puzzling statement. "Xia Yi, would you like to meet an old friend? Like, the little nine-tailed fox you wanted to keep when you were younger."

    1. I don't think so, maybe Frey was a bad guy with a lot of ability to manipulate people, possibly he fooled everyone that he was the best of the best, until Xia Lulu found out somehow and defeated him.

  2. Maybe he is an si and and a golden finger (system) but his cheat is bad for the world/dragon like it's take luck or energy
