18. Knights and Heroes

I almost stumbled as I ran to Allen's house.

Like the other houses, Allen's home was also in ruins, turned into a pile of stones and logs in the trembling tremors of the earth.

In front of the dilapidated house, a sparse crowd stood, most with stern expressions or sad faces, talking together. A few people lay on the side, covered in blood and dirt, but with slow rising and falling chests, it seemed they were all alive.

I saw Aria and Barry also standing among the crowd, dirty all over, but without missing arms or legs, they looked healthy.

"…Ha—"

I let out a sigh of relief, my heart that had been hanging high finally fell, and I almost couldn't stand on my feet.

I was afraid they would never talk to me again, crushed under the rubble like Uncle Doyle.

"Aria, Barry!"

I shouted at them loudly.

Hearing the voice, the two turned their heads in surprise.

"Sister Sil, are you okay?!"

"Little Sil! That's great!!"

Aria rushed over and hugged me tightly.

"You're okay, that's really great… I was so scared… I was about to go looking for you…"

Aria buried her head in my neck and took a deep breath as usual.

Hmm, the scent of lilacs. And after sweating, the fragrance evaporates, making the original light scent fragrant and refreshing…

Aria rubbed her neck vigorously against mine, rubbing and rubbing.

"…Aria, go!"

At this moment, how can I know Aria's little thoughts, I only think of the monster that is about to rush out of the Abyss, how terrible that thing is, no one is clearer than me.

That is the real natural disaster, now is not the time to express joy. Before it arrives, I must get as many people as far away as possible.

At least let Aria and Barry go a little further, to meet with Grandma in the next town. There should not have been too much impact there, at least not for the time being.

Only in this way can I let go and fight.

"…What's wrong, little Sil?"

Aria seemed a little puzzled.

"Go! Leave, the village. There are monsters, coming!"

I shouted loudly at the bewildered people.

"…Monster?"

Aria, Barry, Allen, and the people around them all showed puzzled expressions.

"Little Sil… what's the house like now, why did you take out the scythe."

Barry looked at the large scythe in my hand with some confusion.

"Everyone, go! Aria, let everyone, go!!"

I was anxious, looking at Aria anxiously, hoping she would believe me and take everyone away from here quickly.

Aria saw my anxiety, but couldn't understand what I meant, and hesitated for a while. If everyone leaves, then the people who are still alive underneath can only wait to die, right?

"Sister Sil, uh…" Allen didn't have much contact with me, and now he was a little shy in front of me, scratching his slightly red cheek and said, "I think, we should try to save people as much as possible now, why leave?"

"There are, monsters! Coming soon!!"

At this moment, I hate my ability to express myself extremely. If I could say what I was thinking in my heart, it would be great.

"Monster? What monster?!"

Hearing my statement, everyone was a little uncertain.

"Little Sil, what happened, why do we have to run now? There are still many people buried under the rubble!!"

Aria looked at me incredulously, her eyes wide.

What should I do…

I was silent.

That familiar sense of intimacy grew stronger, and I knew they had come out of the Abyssal Mire.

How to make these people obediently listen to me?

…Right, the cloak! Maybe the cloak can help me!

I tore off the cloak and held it in front of them.

"Now, I, Silvija Rabischmos, by the Holy, Church's name, command you, to immediately evacuate, from, the village! Do not, delay!!"

The Holy Church has a very high status in this world. I know this, so I declared to them righteously. Although I tried to make my face look majestic, I was actually quite nervous inside.

There was a moment of surprise and hesitation among the people.

"Little Sil, you…" Aria looked at me with a complicated expression.

"I, Silvija Rabischmos, am the highest executor of the, Holy Church. Do you want to, defy. The Church's, order?" Of course, I made this up, whether there is such a title as the highest executor of the Holy Church, I am very doubtful, but now there is no time, I am really in doubt about the existence of such a title as the highest executor of the Holy Church, but at this moment, there is truly no other way.

This is the cloak of the bearded swordsman, a man so fierce in nature, his standing within the Holy Church must be significant, and the intricate patterns on the back of the cloak must signify something special.

"This… this is… this is the emblem of the Papal Knight!!! I know it! This is, the Lord Papal Knight!!"

After a brief silence, someone in the crowd seemed to recognize the pattern on the cloak, and this statement exploded among all the people.

"Lord Papal Knight?!"

"Little Sil, are you a Papal Knight!?!!"

"Lord Papal Knight, you are a hero of mankind!!!"

Aria and Barry were dumbfounded at this moment.

They knew this was the cloak Sil had worn when she arrived, and they had noticed the pattern on it long before.

But they never thought much about the tattered cloak that hung in their home every day, the pattern that looked like a flower wrapped in some strange texture, had such a deep meaning.

Although they did not recognize the pattern, they knew of the Papal Knight.

Is there anyone in this world who does not know the Papal Knight? No, there isn't.

That's completely different from a regular Church Knight. The Lord Papal Knight is a title bestowed only upon humans who have reached the pinnacle, the most mysterious and powerful warriors who obey only the Pope himself, the heroes who slay all evil.

They are beings they could never hope to touch.

Sil, the girl who appears so gentle and frail. The girl who can't do farm work well and needs their care.

Is she the Holy Church's Papal Knight?!!

A hero of mankind!!??!!

Impossible.

Whether it was Barry or Aria, at this moment, facing such an absurd claim, they both harbored different degrees of skepticism.

It's simply unbelievable.

This girl, who has been with them day and night, is actually the Lord Papal Knight?!!

What a joke.

"Little Sil… what kind of joke are you playing…"

Aria's lips trembled slightly, an expression of disbelief on her face.

"Sister Sil…"

Compared to Aria, Barry, after an initial moment of shock, began to believe a little after some thought.

Although it was indeed incredible.

But that cloak was indeed brought by Sister Sil. He knew from early on that Sil's identity was not simple, at the very least she was a relative of a great noble.

He even fantasized that Sister Sil was a princess in distress from a fallen country, who by chance ended up in this small village, and would eventually be moved by his sincere heart and marry him, a poor boy.

But he never thought that Sister Sil's identity would be so extraordinary.

She turned out to be the Holy Church's Papal Knight!!!

That's the hero of all mankind, the hero he even admired in his dreams.

…………

Papal Knight?? What is that???

My heart is full of question marks, I have no idea what a Papal Knight is, is it impressive?

…Well, judging by their reactions, it must be something very powerful.

So I immediately went along with their words.

"Yes, I command you, in the name of the Papal Knight, to immediately, leave, this area."

It's almost too late.

Not far away, that presence is getting closer and stronger.

"Little Sil… Lord, has something serious happened? Do we really not need to save people?"

"Monsters, are coming. Evacuate, now."

I said with an unquestionable tone.

"Little Sil…"

Aria still wanted to say something.

"Go now!!"

I glared furiously, trying to overwhelm them with my presence.

But alas, my features are too gentle, even if I make the fiercest expression, in everyone's eyes, it can only be… cute, right?

Damn it, that bearded swordsman, who usually keeps me close, is conspicuously absent at this crucial moment.

"Aria, Barry. Take, as many people as possible. Leave, this place."

"And you…"

Aria said with some concern.

"I… will go save, others."

The large scythe in my hand danced in the air, its silver light hissing through the air.

"Zing—"

The scythe pointed diagonally downward, the cloak fluttered and long hair flew.

I turned, stepped forward, and moved on.

Come on, let's fight.
