11. Sea Dream

Tonight, Hill instructed her students to stay put and not to go out.

She planned to go to the coast herself to take a look.

If something really happened, it would be cumbersome to act with students in tow, but if she was alone, she would have more room to maneuver as long as she could protect herself.

Hill arrived at the coast and wandered around for a long time, but didn't see anything.

However…

She did find two strange people here, dressed completely differently from the locals, even daring to roam the coast at night.

Very suspicious.

So she decided to approach them to see what was going on, while voicing her doubts.

"Why are you appearing by the sea at night?"

Sera, out of professional maid duty, still maintained a smile on her face.

"We are tourists, of course we are out for fun. But before asking others, you should introduce yourself," Sera looked at the sword at Hill's waist, "carrying a weapon and not being from Golde, wandering the coast at night, you are the real danger, aren't you?"

"…Sorry if I scared you," Hill stepped back a few steps.

Xia Yi, hiding behind Sera, found the voice somewhat familiar.

Hmm…

It felt like someone she knew.

This is a human, right?

Xia Yi remembered something, that today Gil had provided a piece of information that some strangers had come to Seaside City recently, claiming to be from the Laurel Academy.

Could it be that this is a student from the Laurel Academy?

She peeked out her head and took a glance outside.

She found that this was indeed wearing the uniform of the Laurel Academy.

Speaking of which, Xia Yi had only heard of the Laurel Academy, knowing it to be a well-known academy in the Rhine Kingdom, gathering many talents, and even some from other races.

The Laurel Academy had once invited her to give a lecture.

She had agreed, but unfortunately, she went to challenge the Silver Dragon Queen later and never made it…

Her understanding of the Laurel Academy was only to this extent.

The students over there are really not afraid of death, coming to such a forsaken place.

Xia Yi thought to herself.

And of course, Hill also saw Xia Yi, feeling a strange sense of concern for this silver-haired girl.

"The coast at night is very dangerous, especially for someone like you, alone, you need to be more careful," Xia Yi kindly reminded, "You should go back early!"

"…"

"Let's go, Sera."

Xia Yi tugged at Sera's sleeve.

After Sera took another look at the unfamiliar woman, she accompanied Xia Yi away.

"As you wish, Miss."

Xia Yi also breathed a sigh of relief.

Really, I saved your life.

Fortunately, this student from the Laurel Academy was not so arrogant. If her attitude had been a bit more aggressive and angered Sera, who knows what her personal maid might have done?

If the girl ended up like Gil, that would be quite pitiful~

"Miss, shall we continue to stroll here?" Sera asked.

"No, it feels fruitless, let's go back! I'm a bit sleepy, I want to sleep."

"Weren't you asleep before dinner?"

"That doesn't count, a nap is not sleep!"

"Before you sleep, do you plan to eat something?"

"What, is there something delicious?"

"There is, this is Seaside City, there are many seafood, I can make you some barbecue that you can't usually eat…"

"Good, good! Now I'm not sleepy!"

Watching the two figures leave, Hill was somewhat lost in thought.

"…They're gone."

She had a feeling that the very beautiful maid sister was very dangerous, especially the look she left before leaving, which even triggered her own combat instincts.

"They claim to be tourists, how could they possibly come to such a forsaken place for a vacation." Hill muttered.

If she remembered correctly, the residents of Seaside City were not very friendly, and there were also local snake gangs.

If they were just ordinary tourists, they would not have come here, probably being targeted by someone with intentions on the way.

This made her even more convinced that these two people were not simple.

The formidable red-haired maid and the mysterious… silver-haired girl.

Especially that silver-haired girl, when she warned her of danger, it made Hill feel a sense of kinship, and she couldn't help wanting to get closer.

"What's wrong with me… to have such thoughts about a loli?"

Hill quickly clasped her hands together.

"I'm sorry, teacher! Please forgive my wavering just now, my cultivation is not yet complete!"

In the middle of the night.

Xia Yi lay in her bed, clutching her pillow, feeling half-asleep and half-awake.

She couldn't open her eyes, and it seemed her consciousness hadn't fully succumbed to sleep, even aware that she was… dreaming.

In her dream, she found herself falling into the ocean.

Enveloped by the sea, she kept sinking, yet not drowning, watching the sunlight on the ocean's surface grow further and further away.

Strangely enough, even as her body sank into the deep sea, she felt not a hint of cold, but rather an inexplicable sense of security.

Her body didn't even want to struggle, thinking, maybe it would be nice to just let go.

Perhaps letting nature take its course was a fine choice.

Amidst the sound of the flowing water, carrying a wondrous voice—

A song.

Someone was singing in the depths of the ocean.

The words were unclear, the more she tried to listen, the more indistinct the singing became.

But even though the words were unclear, the song was incredibly alluring, as if it held a mysterious charm.

It seemed she was nearing the ocean floor.

"Uh…"

Xia Yi opened her eyes, lifted her head, and saw an unfamiliar ceiling.

She blinked, taking several seconds to realize she wasn't in the sea but in a room at the inn, that it had been a dream, not reality.

Sera was sleeping quietly on another bed.

Xia Yi slowly stood up, dragging her pillow with her, and walked over to Sera's bed, just standing there, watching her personal maid.

Almost a minute passed.

Xia Yi shook her head.

What am I doing? If Sera woke up and saw me like this, she'd be scared out of her wits!

The little princess left Sera's bedside, walked over to the window, and drew back the curtains to look outside.

By now, Seaside City had completely settled into the silent midnight, devoid of any light.

Everyone must be asleep.

The cloudless moonlit night, the tranquil sea, the illusory moon in the water, and the clear moonlight spreading across the coast, it was like a natural stage, visible from the inn, every detail clear as day.

"Who is that—?"

Xia Yi's sleepiness vanished in an instant.

She saw a stunningly beautiful girl standing in the sea, gazing back at her from afar, a mysterious smile on her face, and then her lips moved, as if she was saying something.
