19. How Could Red Dragon Rider Lose?!

In front of Xia Yi, to her surprise, stood a gnoll.

Can gnolls even dive?

She was utterly puzzled, having expected to encounter some terrifying monster at least.

Due to historical reasons, Golde had attracted many foreigners during the Age of Great Voyages who entered the country.

For example, individuals like the wolf-headed Gil, whose ancestors likely came from foreign lands.

And this gnoll before her, similar to Gil, seemed like a resident of Golde, dressed in fisherman's attire…

The condition of this gnoll was also very strange, with stiff movements and unfocused, scattered eyes, resembling a walking corpse, approaching Xia Yi.

"Are you from Golde?" Xia Yi asked.

The gnoll, with its mouth agape, was muttering something indistinct, clearly unable to communicate normally.

It was only when it entered the attack range that it lunged at Xia Yi.

But Xia Yi was guarded by her personal maid.

Sera punched the gnoll in the chest, and the exaggerated strength of the dragon race burst forth instantly.

The gnoll's body deformed and was sent flying.

Wow, that punch was fierce.

Xia Yi inwardly remarked, guessing that the punch must have shattered the heart.

However, the gnoll that fell to the ground slowly got back up.

"How is that possible!" Xia Yi exclaimed.

"It seems I have underestimated them; these are not ordinary residents of Golde—"

Sera's voice also abruptly stopped.

Even she, always so composed, began to doubt her own eyes.

The situation had far exceeded their initial expectations.

After being punched by Sera, the gnoll's dirty fisherman's clothes burst open, revealing its body.

On it, there was a layer of scales.

If it were any other scales, Sera would have been merely surprised, but those were…

Dragon scales.

The gnoll's face, sensing its kin, was extremely excited, its mouth split open, forming a sinister curve, and its murky eyes gradually became clear, revealing the vertical pupils of a dragon.

Only then did Xia Yi notice that behind the gnoll, there were signs of a tail growing.

On this resident of Golde, a very intense mutation was occurring, rewriting the original body.

More and more people were emerging from the sea onto the beach, all like the gnoll, though of different races, they were all residents of Golde, and they were all transforming into dragons.

"Sera, they are turning into dragons!!" Xia Yi said in astonishment.

"Your Highness, it's like this," Sera frowned, "These people have all been tainted by the Dragon Curse."

Xia Yi was all too familiar with the Dragon Curse.

After all, she was once a Human Sword Saint and had become a loli silver dragon only after encountering the Dragon Curse.

However, her case was extremely special; in the entire history of the dragon race, there were only two foreigners who maintained their sanity after being bathed in the Dragon Curse and became dragons.

Other foreigners who received the Dragon Curse would undergo rapid physical changes, influenced by the dragon blood, but since they could not bear the dragon blood, their bodies would collapse, lose sanity, and the transformation would stop at that point, turning the cursed into impure half-dragon monsters.

Could the truth behind the Black Tide be… the Dragon Curse?

"Here they come, they've finally come to fetch me!!"

Albert, seeing the half-dragon monsters, began to shout and scream madly.

"Take me with you!!"

"Human, shut up!"

Sera couldn't stand it and picked up a stone to throw at Albert's head.

Fortunately, she controlled her strength.

Albert was silenced.

"Sera, could it be that the dragon race is behind all this?" Xia Yi couldn't help but ask.

"Your Highness, I'm not sure, there are too many doubts," Sera shook her head, "Ordinary dragons can't cause a disaster of this level, even I… might not be able to."

There were indeed many doubts about this matter.

For example, the Black Tide had existed for over a thousand years.

Why did the Black Tide appear in the country of Golde?

And why did the Black Tide not erupt inland in Golde but in the water?

"If the Black Tide is just the Dragon Curse, then it's not a difficult matter, Your Highness, please watch me closely."

Sera used her true dragon form, and a red dragon appeared above the beach, spreading its dragon might all around.

Feeling the presence of a true dragon, the half-dragon monsters became even more agitated.

The half-dragon monsters, dark and numerous, surged towards Sera, as if they wanted to tear her to pieces.

To some extent, the half-dragons are monsters because their blood is not pure enough, lacking the full transformation into dragons, and thus, instinctively, they crave true dragon blood to become genuine dragons.

Facing the covetous gaze of the half-dragon monsters, Sera's anger surged.

"You impure mongrels, you have no right to look at me!" she declared.

Sera ascended into the sky, letting out a thunderous roar.

The half-dragon monsters all howled in response but were immobilized, unable to move under the pressure of pure blood.

Sera opened her mouth wide, unleashing a scorching dragon breath.

The red dragons doesn't need to cast spells; their breath alone can turn into searing flames, incinerating enemies, becoming a harvester of death on the battlefield.

All fear stems from a lack of firepower.

The red dragon in the sky swept across a wide area with her breath, engulfing the half-dragon monsters in flames, reducing them to ashes.

But Sera wasn't done yet; after clearing the coast of half-dragon monsters, she flew into the sea, spraying it with her fiery breath.

The high temperature even caused the seawater to boil, and the half-dragon monsters in the sea thrashed about, retreating continuously.

Those who couldn't escape turned into living "dried fish."

The Black Tide was repelled by the red dragon.

"…So powerful," Xia Yi couldn't help but marvel at the spectacular scene.

Sera's strength is formidable indeed, worthy of being an outstanding maid of the Royal Maid Corps!

Indeed, she is the dragon I acknowledge!

How could the Red Dragon Rider lose? It's a sure win; time to pop the champagne!

"Sera, go for it, go for it, go for it!!"

The little princess had turned into a cheerleader on the beach, jumping up, waving her little hands, cheering for the red dragon in the sky.

Just as Sera was about to clear the Black Tide, rain began to fall from the sky.

Trillions of raindrops fell from the clouds, connecting heaven and earth, forming a curtain of rain.

The rain was bone-chillingly cold, as if to extinguish everything.

Sera's actions seemed to have angered the ocean.

In the distance, a massive wave rose, gaining momentum, turning into a tsunami, sweeping in as if to swallow everything between heaven and earth.

The storm raged over the sea, and through the curtain of rain, Xia Yi saw a colossal creature, a kilometer-long shadow floating on the ocean's surface, like the sovereign of the sea.

The little princess stood still, a name surfacing in her mind.

It was a name from the elusive legends of the Age of Great Voyages—

Leviathan.
