56. Afternoon Tea Is Of Utmost Importance
In the dragon clan's royal palace.
"Is it true that the princess went to find the queen with a pillow last night?"
"Yes, it's true. I saw it myself. In front of the queen's room, the princess looked so lost…"
"Wow! I didn't go see it, I missed out big time!"
"You really did miss out. I saw it, hehehe, she was super cute!"
"Do you guys feel like the princess has changed a bit lately?"
"She has changed a bit, it seems like her way of expressing herself has changed slightly. Right, don't you like watching those anime? What's that term again?"
"Tsundere?"
"Yes, yes, yes, that's it! Tsundere!!"
The rumor that the little princess is a tsundere has quietly spread throughout the dragon clan's royal palace.
…
"My image, my image…"
Xia Yi trembled all over, unable to accept reality.
"My image! Wah!!"
She collapsed onto the bed, covering her body with the blanket, her large tail flailing about outside, venting her emotions.
Lucia watched Xia Yi's current state, feeling increasingly puzzled.
Why does the little princess sometimes act like a calm and mature warrior, and other times like a silly little girl?
Could it be a split personality?
If that were the case, Lucia wouldn't be surprised.
Because in the history of the dragon clan, the more powerful the dragon, the more likely they are to have some mental issues.
For example, there was once a dragon king who suffered from severe dissociative identity disorder, believing he was twins. By day, he was a brutal older brother, and by night, a rational younger brother. However, these flaws did not affect his top-notch strength.
If the princess had such a drawback, perhaps this was a sign of the qualifications of a top-tier warrior in the dragon clan.
That's what Lucia believed.
…
After a long while, a head peeked out from under the covers. Xia Yi looked around and saw that she was alone in the room.
Oh, right.
She vaguely remembered that Lucia had said goodbye and left first.
Because she was too embarrassed at the time, she didn't listen to anything else and just responded perfunctorily.
"How can I face anyone now!" Xia Yi was very distressed, "The whole dragon clan's royal palace will misunderstand me!"
The worst part was that she hadn't found Xia Lulu's weakness.
This was completely a case of 'trying to steal a chicken only to end up losing the rice'!
Maybe she should just give up…
With that thought, Xia Yi got out of bed and walked in front of the mirror.
She saw the dragon clan loli in the mirror, looking like she was about to give up, and inexplicably got angry.
"Look at you now, what a mess, you are the indomitable dragon… ahem, human Sword Saint!" Xia Yi pointed at the mirror, speaking passionately, "You're not afraid of death, so can a little difficulty bring you down? When did you become such a person!"
Xia Yi successfully motivated herself.
Giving up so easily, for a Sword Saint, was impossible!
This was just a necessary experience on the road to success, no need to be discouraged by a single failure.
As long as the road stretched forward, it would eventually lead to success.
"Continue, I refuse to believe that Xia Lulu doesn't have a single weakness!!"
…
After getting out of bed, Xia Yi didn't even bother with breakfast and went straight to find Xia Lulu. When she found her, her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment.
All along the way, Xia Yi had encountered many from the dragon clan's royal palace. Despite knowing she had already suffered a social death, she had to pretend as if nothing had happened, responding with a stiff upper lip.
The shame was enough to make her wish for the ground to swallow her up!
But she had made up her mind; she had to find Xia Lulu's weakness, or else her social death would have been for nothing!
Now, she was in the dragon queen's office.
"Xia Yi, you're not taking the day off today? What brings you here?" Xia Lulu looked at her daughter with curiosity, "Don't tell me, you want to join me for a nap?"
Don't bring up what shouldn't be mentioned!
But she had to endure!
"No, I was thinking, as a princess and the future heir to the dragon clan, I should help alleviate your worries, shouldn't I?" Xia Yi said, feeling somewhat guilty.
"Could it be that you're interested in dealing with these documents?"
Xia Lulu tapped her pen on the pile of documents that had accumulated into a small mountain beside her.
Seeing all these, Xia Yi felt her head swell.
Before passing the royal trial, Xia Lulu hadn't required her to learn to handle state affairs, and since Xia Yi wasn't interested in that area to begin with, she had planned to slack off. As a result, she had never dealt with such matters.
"I can learn!" Xia Yi said.
"Alright then, since that's the case, I'll assign some to you."
Xia Lulu took some documents from the mountain of paperwork and handed them to Xia Yi.
She took them and sat down on a nearby sofa, arranging them neatly and beginning to read.
"Wait, what is this nonsense? What does Gran think he's doing?!"
Xia Yi was shocked by the exaggerated content in one of the documents. It was an application from Grandmaster Gran for a substantial amount of funding to develop new magic.
Remembering the boring lectures that Gran often droned on about, which were enough to put anyone to sleep, Xia Yi scoffed.
Old man, you've finally fallen into my hands, haven't you?
"No way!"
Xia Yi wrote these two words on the document, outright rejecting Gran's request.
Another document was a request from the royal maid brigade, hoping for additional funds to improve the quality of the afternoon tea.
"Afternoon tea… Oh, right, today they're serving mousse cake!!"
With that thought, Xia Yi smiled, her mood lifting considerably.
Compared to magic research, afternoon tea was far more important, a matter of national importance!
"Approved!"
Xia Yi wrote these two words on the document.
She picked up the next one.
"Let's see what the next one is about… The number of personnel to be dispatched for the mining of the Blackstone Kingdom's magic crystal mine?"
She didn't really know how to handle it and didn't dare to write anything rashly.
The next one was about border defense issues, requesting additional soldiers.
Xia Yi felt it was beyond her understanding.
One after another, she realized that the only documents she could approve were the first two.
Xia Yi looked up to see Xia Lulu efficiently processing the paperwork, and for some reason, she felt a sudden surge of admiration.
The Silver Dragon Queen always seemed so leisurely, sipping tea every afternoon. Was ruling a nation really this complicated?
"Daughter, have you finished with all of them?" Xia Lulu looked up and asked.
"Ah… I only managed two of them, I didn't know what to do with the rest."
Xia Yi felt a bit embarrassed as she placed the documents in front of Xia Lulu.
Xia Lulu couldn't help but laugh when she saw the two processed opinions.
"Let it be, I'll handle these. Oh dear, you still have so much to learn~"
Xia Yi had no choice but to accept it!
Staying here was suffocating, and she couldn't disturb Xia Lulu while she was working. Plus, it was almost time for afternoon tea. Xia Yi decided to find an excuse to leave the office.
She glanced casually at Xia Lulu's desk and inadvertently saw the content of the documents spread out in front of the Silver Dragon Queen. Her eyes widened in disbelief.
"…War?"
they have anime?

ReplyDeleteNice story
With the current setting, I imagine either or a mix of split personality, and MC has grown attached to the dragon mother, doing extermely unlikely simply abandon her
But IF we get to the point the dragon mother ever dies ro for any reason try to force the MC to do something hat she doesn't want to do anyway, I can see feelings weakening or even break
