59. It's Moisturized

Xia Yi saw Elly beside her, making faces and gesturing with her eyes, clearly indicating that the words spoken earlier were not hers.

In the center of the martial arts field, Xia Lulu was nowhere to be seen; she was completely out of sight.

So, that means…

Xia Yi swallowed hard, stiffly turning her head, and indeed, the face she saw belonged to Xia Lulu.

"Why is it you?!"

Xia Yi was so frightened she nearly fell to the ground, stumbling back several steps.

Xia Lulu was watching her with an interested look in her eyes, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips, full of sinister intent.

That white-haired old loli must be thinking of how to tease me again!!

"How come you're here and didn't say a word, my daughter," Xia Lulu asked curiously, "hiding in the corner, secretly watching me?"

"I, I…"

Xia Yi didn't know how to explain. She couldn't just blurt out that she was looking for weaknesses to defeat her!

At times like this, one has to rely on others.

Her gaze shifted to Elly, glaring fiercely at the little green dragon maid.

The message was clear—

If you don't want your blunder exposed, come up with an excuse for me!

"Ah!!!"

Elly became even more flustered, looking utterly bewildered, her limbs flailing about, each seeming to have a mind of its own, and she fell flat on the ground, displaying a comic-like pratfall.

No, perhaps it was even more advanced; it was a fall in place.

"Oh ho, not just Xia Yi? There are others here too," Xia Lulu's gaze shifted to Elly, "I remember, you're the trainee maid I met this morning…"

Elly's tail trembled, perfectly embodying the prey under the gaze of a fierce dragon. Just the change in Xia Lulu's tone was enough to nearly make her cry.

Compared to the pressure from Xia Yi, she was even less willing to face Xia Lulu's pressure and chose to submit.

"Ahaha! Your Majesty, Your Highness, I just remembered, I haven't hung out the laundry I washed, I'll go do that now!!"

Elly scrambled up, perhaps driven by a survival instinct, her limbs miraculously coordinated, and she ran off in a flash, leaving Xia Yi behind.

That damn traitor, abandoning me, next time, I'll definitely teach you a lesson, Elly!!

Xia Yi screamed inwardly.

But now, it was just her and Xia Lulu.

"My weakness, my daughter? You actually want to know these things, could it be… you're planning to do something bad to me~"

Xia Lulu took a step closer to Xia Yi.

Xia Yi continued to back away.

Thud.

Her large tail hit the wall; there was nowhere left to retreat.

The ever-smirking Xia Lulu was almost upon her, and if this continued, she would be cornered!

"If it were anyone else daring to probe like this, I would have thrown them into the frying pan by now, but since it's Xia Yi… I might make an exception and tell you about my weaknesses, like, I'm actually only good at magic, not so much at physical combat, quite weak actually~"

What a joke, do you think I'm a fool? You crushed my Gram with a single stomp, and you call that physically weak?

Xia Yi didn't believe it. Who would openly reveal their weaknesses to someone who could potentially use them against them? That's just bait to lure the naive into a trap!

She had to think of a way to get out of there, or else she was sure to suffer the consequences.

"Mother, I've discovered something very important that I must report to you!"

"What is it?"

"Actually… Elly, she's a spy! She's infiltrated our dragon clan's palace as a spy!" Xia Yi said with feigned seriousness, "The royal maids are all highly competent and capable, no one could be so inept at cleaning. Just look at her clumsy behavior; how could that be normal?"

Xia Lulu narrowed her eyes.

"She's definitely a spy. I've discovered it with my amazing insight. I planned to trick her into revealing herself in front of you, Mother, but I accidentally gave her the chance to escape with an excuse…"

Xia Yi grew more and more animated, almost believing her own story.

Xia Lulu was about to say something.

But Xia Yi wouldn't listen and quickly made her escape, paying no attention to anything else, just running.

She couldn't give Xia Lulu a chance to refute her, or she wouldn't be able to leave.

"Mother, I'll go catch Elly and bring her here, don't worry, leave it all to me!!" Xia Yi shouted as she ran out of the martial arts field.

However, she heard Xia Lulu's voice from behind her, something about "running in the wrong direction"…

No matter, she had to flee first!

She would just say she made a mistake later, a perfect plan to extricate herself!

"Ha… ha… That scared me to death… I almost fell into Xia Lulu's hands again…"

Xia Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief, having shaken off Xia Lulu.

"Eh, Your Highness, what's the matter?"

Sera saw Xia Yi panting and was a bit confused.

"Oh, it's you, Sera."

"Your Highness, I was about to go prepare the ingredients for dinner. Do you need any help?"

"Not really… Wait a second."

Xia Yi remembered something, she did gain something from the martial arts field, at least one thing she knew.

That was Xia Lulu admitting she wasn't invincible and had tasted defeat.

"Sera, I have a question for you, and you must answer truthfully," Xia Yi looked at Sera.

"Ask away."

"Has Xia Lulu ever been defeated in battle?"

"The Queen? In my memory, no, not at all."

"Sera, you can't do this! Answer truthfully, you can't lie!" Xia Yi pointed at Sera, "This is something Xia Lulu herself admitted, that she isn't invincible and has known defeat!"

"Did the Queen say that herself?" Sera seemed surprised, "Your Highness, if that's the case, I think the Queen must be referring to something from the past."

"Something from the past?"

Sera nodded and began to explain, "Your Highness, before I entered the Dragon Palace to become a royal maid, the Queen was already ruling the Dragon Kingdom as the Silver Dragon Queen. And in the centuries I've been with the royal maids, I've rarely seen the Queen fight, but without exception, the Queen has never lost, including the occasional sparring with the guards."

Xia Yi understood that Sera meant Xia Lulu's past defeats were related to her history.

"Sera, then tell me about Xia Lulu's past."

"…"

"Don't refuse to tell me, Sera, or I will be really upset, you know how terrifying I can be when I'm angry!" Xia Yi threatened, her voice carrying a mix of frustration and desperation.

Sera hesitated for a moment, a wry smile crossing her face, "Princess, it's not that I'm unwilling to share, it's just that…"
