65. The King Of The Storm
Huh?
Xia Yi was stunned.
What does this have to do with me? Go find Xia Lulu!
Xia Yi almost blurted out these words.
Fortunately, she held back.
If she had said it, it would surely have aroused suspicion, and her plan would have been ruined!
Can I find a way to escape…
Like, I suddenly remembered something, I forgot to feed the cats in the backyard!
She thought about it carefully, that's too absurd, who would believe that.
"Captain, are you sure?" Xia Yi asked.
"Of course, Your Majesty the Queen, the one visiting our Dragon Kingdom is none other than the Storm King, and his intentions are not good," the Royal Guard Captain replied.
Xia Yi had no choice, she was really in a difficult position, after all, in the eyes of the other dragons, she was the Silver Dragon Queen Xia Lulu, she had to bite the bullet and go on.
There must be a way out when the car reaches the mountain, and the boat will go straight when it reaches the bridge!
…
Before the palace of the Dragon Kingdom.
The clear sky turned dark, and the black fog rolled in like waves. Murky whispers came from within the fog, and countless lost souls tumbled around a deathless king, as if this domain appeared because of him.
His massive body was covered with a layer of decaying armor, obscuring his face, only a mysterious blur was visible. If one looked closely, their spirit seemed to fall into an abyss.
The blue ghost fire, symbolizing lost souls, burned slowly on his body. With every step he took, the undead let out exhausted wails, proclaiming the greatness of the Undying King.
This is the Storm King, Dalex, a high-ranking undead.
Dalex is an existence opposite to ordinary life. To survive, he must constantly kill. Those killed by him lose themselves and are reborn as undead, joining his vast undead legion.
Undead, a special kind of creature, feel no pain, know no fatigue, do not think, only obey. Even the lowest undead, when millions gather, become an almost invincible army.
To the world, they are a storm, leaving nothing alive in their wake, everything withers, an unstoppable natural disaster.
And Dalex, the Storm King, commands it all.
This storm is sweeping across the land, devouring many nations.
"My king, this is the Dragon Kingdom."
A lich dressed in a suit respectfully explained to Dalex, his master.
He is one of the few high-ranking undead in the undead legion, a vassal of Dalex, Sigma.
Sigma possesses wisdom, capable of complex thought, and commands the lower undead in battle under the will of the Storm King. At other times, he serves as a vassal to Dalex, sharing his burdens.
"…"
"King, why have you chosen to come to the Dragon Kingdom?" Sigma asked, "The strength of the dragons is not to be underestimated, fundamentally different from other races. Their power is fundamentally different from all other beings in the world."
"Not for, war. For, the anomaly."
Beneath the decaying armor, the Storm King uttered a series of deep, intermittent tones.
"Powerful foes, must, appear, need, to prepare, in advance."
Sigma remembered, not long ago, the undead army saw the omen of the Devouring Sun, and the Storm King, who studies the stars, believes that a terrible foe is rising in this world "Understood, my king. Today's meeting will rewrite the future of this world."
"Here they come."
At the end of Dalex's gaze, a silver-haired dragon appeared. His gaze shifted, and the undead around him howled even more fiercely.
"The Silver Dragon Queen, Xia Lulu."
…
"Hey, why has the weather changed?"
It was clear just a moment ago, and suddenly it turned overcast. Lucia felt very strange about this sudden change.
Moreover, she sensed an ominous presence.
Filled with decay, death, ruin…
Such an aura could only belong to a high-ranking undead, and it felt eerily familiar to her.
Hundreds of years ago, she had the fortune to witness from afar the Storm King destroying an orc nation.
"Could it be the Storm King, Dalex?" Lucia furrowed her brow, "If it's the Storm King, the guards should be notifying the queen by now. Why can't I see anyone?"
Just this afternoon, Xia Lulu had finished her official duties and gone to rest. It was absolutely forbidden to disturb her during her rest.
Therefore, Lucia was standing by outside the back garden of the Dragon Palace, on standby.
"Hey, Lucia…?"
Lucia heard someone calling her and turned to see a green dragon maid.
It was Elly.
She had only recently joined the royal maid corps and was now working hard as an apprentice maid. She had a talent for combat, but for some reason, she was always clumsy with her daily tasks.
Elly still needed more training to become a capable maid who could stand on her own.
"Lucia, why are you still here?" Elly approached Lucia with confusion, "Everyone in the palace has already gathered. Hurry up and go support the queen!"
"What are you talking about?"
"It's the Storm King! The Storm King has come to our Dragon Kingdom, and the queen has already gone to meet him… Could today's meeting trigger a war between the dragons and the undead? Am I witnessing a new chapter in history?" Elly was both nervous and excited, almost speaking incoherently.
Lucia looked at the little maid's strange reaction and was even more confused.
Wasn't the queen supposed to be sleeping in the back garden?
…
Xia Yi sat on the throne that symbolized the pinnacle of dragon power, under the gaze of countless eyes. Her expression was stiff, and cold sweat ran down her back.
Not only were there dragons here, but also a host of undead. That strange, bulky figure, emitting blue flames, looked just like a ghost, extremely frightening, the epitome of eeriness!
The other dragons were silent too, as if facing a great enemy, their eyes filled with overt hostility towards the undead. If it weren't for the presence of Xia Yi, the fake Silver Dragon Queen, this place might have already turned into a battlefield.
It's all over, I've really messed up.
The little princess, dressed in her mother's clothes, felt like she was sitting on pins and needles, cursing her bad luck.
Now she couldn't reveal her identity. If other races saw the disgrace within the dragon clan, it would definitely cause a huge negative impact, tarnishing the international image of the dragons.
She would surely be branded as the disgrace of the dragon race, thrown into the dungeon, never to rise again!
Oh, how she wanted to cry.
Xia Yi bit her lip, struggling to hold back her tears, not daring to lose her composure.
The palace was silent, including the undead, all waiting for Xia Yi to speak.
Xia Yi didn't know what to say, but standing there silently wasn't an option either. Perhaps it was the overwhelming tension that prompted her to utter something completely out of tune with the gravity of the situation. Facing the formidable Storm King, she asked, somewhat absurdly,
"Have you eaten?"
🤣
ReplyDeleteOh, this is going to be great!
DeleteThis is stressing me out, let alone her. If I feel this much second hand embarrassment just to be embarrassed thinking about her being caught, how in the world did I ever manage to watch Rent A Girlfriend?? It’s a miracle at work.
ReplyDeleteThe sword of damocles situation huh
