77. Finally, It Was Found

"Go, little hamster, charge!"

"Squeak squeak!"

The little hamster scurried ahead, while the dragon clan's little princess followed excitedly, cheering on.

Many in the dragon palace witnessed this scene and couldn't help but laugh.

Although Her Highness the Princess had grown much stronger, she was essentially still so adorable, playing so happily with a little hamster.

Unbeknownst to Xia Yi, her royal dignity had taken another hit.

However, at the moment, she wasn't concerned about that; she was more interested in Xia Lulu's movements.

The little hamster led Xia Yi to the dragon clan's library, pointing in a direction.

"Squeak squeak!"

The hamster pointed in a certain direction.

Xia Yi saw a silver-haired dragon loli, none other than the Silver Dragon Queen, Xia Lulu.

"How strange, why would Xia Lulu suddenly come here?" Xia Yi was genuinely surprised.

She and the little hamster hid in a corner, secretly observing Xia Lulu's movements.

The Silver Dragon Queen was alone, without anyone else by her side, entering the library.

"This is odd. If Xia Lulu wanted to borrow books, she could have just sent the royal maidservant team. Why come in person?" Xia Yi pondered, stroking her chin.

If Xia Lulu was here, it likely meant one thing: the book she wanted to borrow was of significant importance, necessitating her personal presence.

With that in mind…

A flash of insight crossed Xia Yi's mind.

Could it be the biographies of the past Dragon Kings?

"If that's the case, this is my chance!"

Xia Yi felt lucky to have stumbled upon this opportunity.

Giving up easily was not the style of a Sword Saint.

"Little hamster, don't speak. Let's follow her in," Xia Yi instructed the hamster. "Be good, and I'll give you peanuts!"

The hamster obediently nodded.

The little silver dragon and the hamster entered the library's gates together, maintaining a considerable distance from Xia Lulu to observe her secretly.

Xia Lulu approached the front desk.

"Your Majesty, why have you come? This is really… I haven't seen you in so long…!" Creak, upon seeing Xia Lulu, became so excited that he couldn't speak properly, hopping around on the front desk.

This made Xia Yi pout. Why don't you jump around when I come, but get so lively when you see Xia Lulu?

"Creak, long time no see. Are you still comfortable staying in the library?" Xia Lulu asked with a smile.

"Of course! Of course! The last time we met, was it hundreds of years ago… Uh, I can't quite remember," Creak laughed. "Your Majesty, do you need to borrow any books from the library today?"

"Yes, Creak, come with me."

"Alright!"

Sensing the importance of the situation, Creak followed Xia Lulu, both of them disappearing into the depths of the library.

Stealth mode activated!

As the two figures vanished deeper into the library, Xia Yi, hidden in the shadows, dared to emerge. She approached the front desk, rolled forward, and quickly produced a pass, putting it on.

"Little hamster, find Xia Lulu's location!"

To encourage the little hamster, Xia Yi took out a peanut.

The hamster happily stuffed the peanut into its cheek pouch.

"Squeak squeak!"

The hamster, with Xia Yi in tow, began their operation within the library. This direction… it was the same as last time!

It was where Creak had previously led Xia Yi to the place where the biographies of the past Dragon Kings were stored. There was a massive magical array, and the barrier was still active. According to dragon clan tradition, only the current Dragon King could read the biographies of the Dragon Kings.

Xia Yi and the little hamster had reached their destination. She hid in a concealed corner behind the bookshelves, peeking out to spy on the area outside.

Many books floated in mid-air, enveloped in a blue glow. The arcane and complex magical runes acted like a cage, sealing all the books within the space.

Xia Lulu and Creak stood before the magical array, engaged in conversation.

"Your Majesty, are you here to unlock the seal of the magical array to view the biographies of our dragon clan's past Dragon Kings?" Creak asked cautiously.

"Yes, open it, Creak."

"But, Your Majesty, besides you, actually…"

"Hurry up," Xia Lulu interrupted Creak.

Creak jumped, startled by the Queen's urgency, though he didn't understand her intentions. But the Queen must have her reasons, and he only needed to follow orders.

"As you command, Your Majesty."

Creak leaped into action, the soul gem embedded in his bones glowing. It was a vessel for the soul, resonating with the magical array.

The array emitted waves of energy, lifting Creak's body into the air as the resonance synchronized. The runes on the array temporarily vanished, and the barrier was lifted.

The biographies of the past Dragon Kings lay open before Xia Lulu, hers to peruse.

Xia Yi's eyes gleamed with opportunity. Now was the moment!

She had prepared in advance, setting up a remote-controlled magic spell on the outer bookshelf. With a snap of her fingers…

Half a second later, a bookshelf collapsed, creating a loud noise.

"Hmm, let's see how you fall for my diversion, Xia Lulu!"

Xia Yi watched Xia Lulu's back with confidence.

Xia Lulu turned around, asking, "Is there anyone else in the library?"

Xia Yi quickly activated a second remote-controlled spell, causing books to fall and mimic the sound of someone fleeing in panic.

"Is it over there?" Xia Lulu leaped atop the bookshelves, dashing towards the source of the noise.

"Success, I've drawn Xia Lulu away!" Xia Yi whispered triumphantly to herself.

Once Xia Lulu was out of sight, Xia Yi, clutching the little hamster, dashed out from hiding. She set the hamster down on a bookshelf.

"Little hamster, keep watch for me. When Xia Lulu returns, alert me, and I'll treat you to a nut feast!"

"Squeak squeak!" The hamster nodded, motivated by the promised reward.

With Creak's soul gem resonating with the magical array and no longer conscious, there were no more obstacles. Xia Yi quickly pulled a book from the biographies of the past Dragon Kings.

"Hmm, this one is about Dragon Queen Mefa… not this one, I got it wrong!" She replaced the book.

"Dragon King Glenn? Not this one either!"

"Is this…?"

Xia Yi continued her frantic search, her luck seemingly poor as none of the books were the biography of the former king, increasing her anxiety.

"Squeak squeak!" The hamster's warning indicated Xia Lulu's return was imminent.

Sweat beaded on Xia Yi's forehead as her eyes scanned the books—

There it was!

"The Chronicles of Gerka Christie!"

Just as Xia Yi stuffed the king's biography into her bosom, she heard Xia Lulu's voice.

"What are you doing here?"

  1. Novel updates says this has nearly 900 chapters, but even so, I'd still like to know: does Xia Yi accept the reality of her new life in the next 20 chapters or so? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed her antics at first, but at nearly 80 chapters, this bit has overstayed its welcome. If this keeps up for much longer, I'll probably just drop it.

    1. I'm not sure what you mean, but at the end of volume 1 she's still a tsundere, albeit not as much. So... I guess not?

    2. I agree with the post above. To be honest her tsundere personality has is more of a feature than something she outgrows from what I’ve seen in mtl, which is fair if you’re getting bored of it. In my opinion she has already accepted her new life, including when she writes the answers to 3 questions about her identity, but her pride from her past life makes her a tsundere and challenge and prank her mother.

    3. The MC does accept her new life.
