78. The Hamster Made A Significant Contribution!

"What are you doing here?"

Xia Lulu gazed at the little hamster on the bookshelf and curiously asked:

"Instead of staying in the backyard, you ran to the library. Could it be that you also want to learn, little hamster?"

Hiding in the corner of the bookshelf, Xia Yi breathed a sigh of relief.

When Xia Lulu came back, she was distracted by the little hamster, allowing herself to run back and hide in the bookshelf.

This time, the hamster has done a great service!

"Squeak squeak."

The little hamster moved closer and licked Xia Lulu's finger.

Xia Lulu picked up the little hamster.

"Do you know that there are many dragons outside the backyard, and you could get squashed if you're not careful?"

The little hamster lay obediently in her hand, continuously licking Xia Lulu, turning into a little licking hamster.

Meanwhile, Xia Yi was secretly cheering for the little hamster on the side.

Well done, little hamster, I'll give you an extra meal later!! Whatever you want to eat, I'll bring it for you!!

"Go back, and don't run around next time."

Xia Lulu's palm released some magic, turning into a transparent little sprite that circled around her.

Then, with a few casual commands from the Silver Dragon Queen, the sprite lifted the little hamster and flew away.

Obviously, it was ready to safely send the little hamster back to the backyard.

"Never mind, I'll investigate later to see if there are any suspicious people here. First, I need to consult the biography of the first Dragon King. I can't let others discover it…"

Saying this, Xia Lulu returned to the front of the magic circle, waved her fingers lightly a few times, and a biography of the Dragon King with an ancient aura fell in front of her.

Xia Yi, hiding in the shadows, held her breath, clutching the biography of the former King Gerka, trying her best not to make a sound, moving little by little.

She really didn't dare let Xia Lulu discover her, as this was her only chance.

If she were exposed, she probably wouldn't be allowed near the library ever again.

So this time she was very patient, desperately telling herself not to be impatient, moving bit by bit, preferring to be slow rather than being detected.

Finally, Xia Yi retreated to a safe distance. To be cautious, she watched Xia Lulu for a full ten minutes.

After making sure Xia Lulu had no reaction, she quickly went to the outer area, acted swiftly, threw the pass on the front desk, and left the library's gate.

"Yay!! Xia Lulu was actually played by me, worthy of me!"

Xia Yi took out the biography of the former King from her arms, raised it high, basking in the sunlight, very proud.

"Just wait, Xia Lulu, your past will be exposed before me. Once I find your weakness, let's see what you'll do!"

After that, Xia Yi took the book and went back.

Meanwhile, in the library.

Xia Lulu closed the biography of the first Dragon King and put the book back into the floating magic circle, no longer pretending.

The soul gem of Creak returned to her body, the resonance stopped, and the magic circle's seal began to operate again.

Creak, who had fallen to the ground, regained consciousness, looked up at Xia Lulu.

"Your Majesty the Queen, have you finished your research?" Creak inquired with a hint of difficulty.

"Yes," Xia Lulu responded with a nod.

"Your Majesty, about that…" Creak seemed troubled.

The little skeletal dragon didn't know how to explain because, due to its undead nature, it was aware that another dragon had entered the library, one whose life essence was very similar to the Queen's.

In the entire dragon clan, the only one nearly identical to Xia Lulu was Xia Yi.

Even though it had lost consciousness earlier, it now knew that one of the biographies of the past Dragon Kings was missing.

"I know all about it," Xia Lulu said, "Creak, let's keep today's events between us."

Creak was surprised but also greatly admired the Queen. Indeed, the Queen was invincible, with everything under her control.

Yet for some reason, Xia Lulu's eyes did not show a trace of ease but rather a hint of complexity.

That evening, in the Silver Dragon Princess's room.

"Goodnight, Your Highness," the Red Dragon Maid said to the little princess lying in bed.

"Goodnight, Sera, I'm already sleepy… yawn~"

Xia Yi pretended to be very sleepy, even letting out a yawn, pulling the blanket up a bit, her eyes half-closed.

But to the maid, these were already poor acting skills.

After all, having experienced Xia Yi sneaking out in the middle of the night before, she was on high alert.

"Your Highness, I will stay here until you are fully asleep," Sera stated firmly.

Sera, are you challenging me?!

Xia Yi's pillow was hiding the biography of the former King, and she just wanted to wait for Sera to leave so she could secretly read it.

Since returning from the library, this maid had been following her, hardly ever leaving her side, which left her no chance to look for Xia Lulu's past history.

"No need, Sera, I've been having a bit of insomnia lately, it takes me a while to fall asleep…"

"It's okay, Your Highness, I can wait. After all, we can't have you causing trouble in the middle of the night again," Sera said, her tone gentle but her words sharp.

"You wouldn't want to drink bitter gourd juice, would you?"

You just had to bring up the thing I hate the most, Sera!

Using the bitter gourd juice I despise to pressure me!

"No, Sera, I've become well-behaved, you should go to sleep. If it affects your work tomorrow, that wouldn't be good."

Xia Yi continued to tug at Sera's resolve.

"Your Highness, have you been suffering from insomnia lately?"

"Yes, yes."

"May I offer a suggestion?"

"Go ahead!"

"Why don't you ask the Queen to tuck you in? You would enjoy that, wouldn't you?"

"Sure, after all, I love—uh! Don't try to trick me, I would never do something that would undermine my dignity! I refuse! I want to sleep by myself!"

Xia Yi blushed and huffed.

"Then I won't disturb you any longer, Your Highness. Goodnight."

Sera smiled, turned off the lights in the room, and left.

It seemed she wouldn't leave for a while and would stand guard outside the door.

But it didn't matter to Xia Yi; she didn't need to sneak out in the middle of the night, just to read a book by herself.

She turned over, lay on her bed, and pulled out the book from under her pillow, and with a snap of her fingers, a small orb of light appeared before her. This was a basic illumination spell, easy to cast and cancel, not very bright, but it didn't need to be—it was just enough to make the contents of the book legible.

Xia Yi was filled with excitement and anticipation, feeling as if the secrets hidden within history were about to be unearthed by her own hands.

The past of the Silver Dragon Queen, a mystery to most in the dragon clan, was soon to be known by her.

"Xia Lulu, I'm coming for your secrets~!"
